Submitting a plan to the Willamette Angels Conference gives your startup company the opportunity for exposure to investors, fundraising experience, and of course, the chance for an investment. All applicants will receive a free 90-day subscription to LivePlan, the industry’s Best-Selling Business Plan Software by Palo Alto Software.

What to expect

After the application deadline has passed, WAC LLC members will review all applicant companies. Approximately ten semi-finalists will be chosen from the pool of applicants. The semi-finalists who will be asked to present  to WAC LLC members at due diligence. About two weeks later, five to six finalists will be selected. These finalist companies will continue the due diligence process with investors and present at the Conference where the winner of the estimated $250,000 – $300,000 Growth Stage investment will be announced.

Companies who do not advance as a Growth Stage finalist  that  are from the Mid and Southern Willamette Valley will be eligible to participate in the Launch Stage Round for the chance to win a $2,500 prize package sponsored by Palo Alto Software. The Launch Stage Round will be based on LivePlan pitches.

The Growth Stage Winner receives an investment in the form of a convertible note, although other arrangements are possible. Finalists should expect to negotiate basic terms with the Managing Member prior to the conference. The Term Sheet summarizes the principal terms of the proposed financing for the company selected as the winner at the Willamette Angels Conference. All companies should review the WAC Term Sheet.

Applicants to the Willamette Angel Conference may also be considered for loans ranging from $25,000 — $250,000 through Business Oregon’s Small Business Expansion Program.

  • January 10 – Company applications open
  • February 12 — Early-bird application deadline
  • February 23 – Company applications deadline
  • March 7 – Investor due diligence begins
  • March 9 – Pitch Clinic 
  • April 4 – Semi-finalists announced
  • April 11, 18 – Semi-finalists pitch to investors
  • April 18 – Finalists announced
  • April 25 — Finalists pitch to investors
  • May 17 – Investment winner(s) announced

How to apply

Willamette Angels Conference uses Gust to manage business plan submissions. To submit your company application to the WAC follow the instructions below. All steps must be completed:

1. Sign up for a Gust account.

2. Submit your application.

(All materials submitted can be edited any time before and after the application. However, it is best to provide as much information as possible by the application deadline. WAC LLC members begin reviewing submissions immediately after the application deadline.)

3. Pay your application fee.

(Includes two tickets to the May 16th evening reception, the May 17th Conference and the cocktail reception)

4. Sign up for your free 90-day LivePlan account. 

5. Attend a free pitch clinic

(The pitch clinic will be held on March 9 in Eugene. Accepted applicants will be contacted with additional details.)
