WAC Awards

The WAC awards were introduced in 2016 to recognize outstanding individual contributions to the Willamette Angels community. These awards — along with their voting criteria and selection committees — include:

Entrepreneur of the Year

The nominee has demonstrated true entrepreneurial spirit — despite the risks —  in starting a new local business.  The entrepreneur has shown potential to substantially impact the economic health of the community through new job creation and drawing revenue from outside the area.  The entrepreneur will be noted for the creativity of their new product or service, as well as sound business practices.

Mentor of the Year

The nominee is being honored for his/her mentorship of entrepreneurs in the Southern Willamette Valley and Mid-Coast region. They have spent time coaching entrepreneurs and connecting them to the resources they need to effectively launch and scale their venture. This person has been generous with their time and expertise in order to help advance our region’s entrepreneurial ecosystem

  • Willamette Angels Fund Manager
  • RAIN/Accelerator Representative
  • Elected Official
  • Someone brand new to the community

Rocket Fuel Award

The nominee is being honored for leading a startup team and demonstrating a strong record of success over the past 12-18 months. They also have a plan to continue propelling their startup’s growth into the future.
